Ahead of the delegation, USISPF Senior Advisor of Defence, Vikram J Singh said, “This is an exciting time for deepening the US-India defence relationship as a key pillar of the bilateral relationship. Defence ties have grown significantly in the past year with new agreements on sharing sensitive information, tri-services exercises, and continued opportunities to grow defence trade and technology sharing”. The gradual increase of US participation in empowering the Indian Armed Forces was evident during the recently held Republic day parade, where for the first time, four American built aircraft (Apache, Chinook, C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster) took part in the flypast display and the model of P8I was part of the Indian Navy’s Tableau. We look forward to engagements at DefExpo 2020 that will deepen defence ties to help build India’s position in the global defence supply chain, including through US firms growing Make in India partnerships.”
Phil Georgariou, Vice President of Industrial Strategy for BAE Systems will lead the delegation.
USISPF is conducting a seminar at DefExpo 2020 on February 6 in seminar hall No3 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM on: “Game Changers in Aerospace and Defence”. Speakers at the session will include representatives from the US government, Government of India, US industry, and startups.
